Description of Project Timeline
A Project Timeline is a useful tool in project management to document milestones, deadlines and other significant dates and events during a project. As portions of a project are completed, they can be noted on the timeline, providing a helpful visual on the project’s progress.
Project Timelines are usually laid out as a horizontal bar with notations for relevant dates (days, weeks, months, or years) along the bar. Each task within the project is noted at the point of completion or proposed completion. The furthest end of the bar is the completion of the project. This tool provides managers and team members with a clear visual representation of where the project stands at any moment compared as compared to the completion date.
